In this position, you’ll be responsible for PCB layout and ECAD-related work across our portfolio of technically advanced products. Your focus will be on translating schematics into high-quality layouts, maintaining ECAD libraries and design rules, and ensuring that designs meet requirements for manufacturability, reliability, and performance.
Reporting to our R&D manager, hardware, you’ll be an influential member of a strong team working closely with colleagues in hardware development, mechanics, production technology, and testing.
Your role
As part of the R&D team, you will collaborate with hardware engineers and other specialists to deliver consistent, high-quality PCB designs across product platforms.
Specifically, your role will involve:
- Designing PCB layouts for multilayer boards, including mixed-signal and power-electronic designs
- Supporting hardware engineers throughout the schematic-to-layout process
- Maintaining and developing ECAD libraries, footprints, and design rules
- Ensuring compliance with Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT) principles
- Preparing production data such as Gerber/ODB++, stackups, and assembly documentation
- Collaborating with mechanics, production technology, and test to ensure robust and manufacturable designs
- A central role in ensuring high-quality, robust PCB designs
- Responsibility for developing and maintaining layout standards and ECAD best practices
Must-have qualifications
- A relevant technical background in electronics, electrical engineering, or similar – whether gained through formal education or substantial practical experience
- Several years of experience with professional PCB layout and ECAD tools
- Strong understanding of electronic circuits, including analog/digital and power electronics
- Experience with multilayer PCB design and mixed-signal layouts
- Familiarity with ECAD tools such as OrCAD/Allegro, Altium, or similar
- Understanding of DfM and how layout decisions affect production and product quality
- Experience preparing production documentation
- Structured and detail-oriented working approach
- Clear technical communication in English
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience with EMC-aware PCB design and signal integrity considerations
- Knowledge of power-electronic layouts or high-current designs
- Experience with ECAD library management and design-rule development
- Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes and board-house constraints
- Experience working with hardware, mechanics, and production teams across the product lifecycle
- Exposure to simulation tools or basic signal/thermal analysis
