Why our onboarding process sets new employees up for success<\/h3>\r\nWhen new colleagues join OJ Electronics, we want them to feel welcomed, well-prepared, and part of our organization from day one. That\u2019s why our onboarding program is deliberately structured, surprisingly comprehensive, and \u2013 according to people who\u2019ve been through it \u2013 far more extensive than what you might expect from a company of our size.\r\n\r\nOver the past few months, several new hires<\/strong> have completed the program. We spoke with two of them, Mette Rathcke<\/strong> and Rasmus Alsbo Nielsen<\/strong>, about their first weeks at OJ. Their experiences echo what many others have said: That OJ\u2019s onboarding stands out for its thoroughness, warmth, and focus on helping people understand the bigger picture.\r\n\r\n.\r\n\r\n

Three weeks with a full calendar<\/h2>\n

Mette Rathcke joined OJ in September 2025 as part of our Supply Chain team, working primarily with the purchasing of raw materials and international freight. Although she comes from our part of Denmark, and was already familiar with OJ as a company, she says she was not prepared for just how structured the onboarding would be.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was really surprised to see my calendar completely filled for the first three weeks,\u201d she says. \u201cIt was very clear that they had prepared thoroughly for a new employee. I learned a lot \u2013 not just about my own job, but about other departments too.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Mette, that cross-department insight was especially valuable. Coming from other roles where teams didn\u2019t always have time to help newcomers, she found OJ\u2019s approach refreshingly different.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\u201cPeople were incredibly welcoming and open. I felt secure from day one. I could ask anything, and they made sure I met the right people. The formal instruction was also impressive \u2013 templates and processes were given high priority, which helped me understand how things are done here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Professional, clear, and supportive<\/h2>\n

Rasmus Alsbo Nielsen, who joined OJ as a UI\/UX Designer \u2013 also in September 2025 \u2013 had previously worked for a large Danish bank. He describes his first weeks at OJ as \u201ca good and professional start,\u201d not least because of the clarity built into the onboarding structure.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a clear process from day one,\u201d Rasmus explains. \u201cWe even started as a small group, which created an enjoyable shared experience. I gained a solid understanding of how the company works and met people from across the organization.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Rasmus, the onboarding offered a level of orientation normally associated with much larger organizations.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt reminded me of the bigger companies I\u2019ve worked for \u2013 maybe even with more meetings and more people involved,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

One highlight for both Rasmus and Mette was the early meeting with Managing Director Anders H\u00f8gh-Skov, who personally welcomes new hires and introduces them to OJ\u2019s ownership structure, strategy and values.<\/p>\n

Although supported by his team, Rasmus notes that he quickly got into his role independently \u2013 exactly as the program intends.<\/p>\n

A small company with a big approach<\/h2>\n

OJ\u2019s onboarding program typically spans several weeks and includes:<\/p>\n

  • A welcome session with the managing director<\/li>\n
  • A structured schedule covering all departments\u00a0<\/li>\n
  • A dedicated mentor from day one<\/li>\n
  • Process and systems training<\/li>\n
  • Hands-on introductions to products and production<\/li>\n
  • Regular check-ins during the first months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Many new employees have told us they didn\u2019t expect this level of structure from a company of OJ\u2019s size. But at OJ, being small does not mean being unprepared \u2013 if anything, it means people take personal responsibility for giving new colleagues the best possible start.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
