Why PMsynRM?<\/h2>\n

PMsynRM motors are interesting for HVAC system suppliers primarily due to their relatively low cost. Part of what makes this technology more affordable is that it requires fewer magnets. Then, the magnets that are used are made from widely available metals, not rare-earth materials \u2013 so less risk of wide price fluctuations or supply interruptions. Finally, PMsynRM motors tend to last longer than the alternatives.<\/p>\n

A PMsynRM motor is a synchronous reluctance motor that is assisted by permanent magnets in the rotor \u2013 which is why they are sometimes referred to as \u201cpermanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance machine\u201d (PMASynRM) motors. They are distinguished by the large share of reluctance torque they produce, compared to PM electrical torque.<\/p>\n
