Made for Monitoring and Simple Settings
These interfaces represent yet another step forward for our drives range. They are a feature that many in the business ask for, and our version consist of 2” touchscreens that you can either get as a built-in part of your drive or install separately. As our drives come pre-programmed, these interfaces are primarily intended for daily operation and system status overview. So they let you do basic settings, start/stop, and the like. On top of this, users get access to plenty of readouts of information, such as I/O settings, alarm outs, Modbus/IP address, software versions and so on.
“The new user interfaces were added to the range for several reasons, but service was one of the main ones. Having displays like these are very helpful in terms of resolving warnings and alarms. If you have an entire row of drives, you’ll quickly spot the faulty one. And then you have immediate access to a lot of information via the on-screen menus.”

Created with Easy Troubleshooting in Mind
The new user interfaces were added to the range for several reasons, but service was one of the main ones. Having displays like these are very helpful in terms of resolving warnings and alarms. If you have an entire row of drives, you’ll quickly spot the faulty one. And then you have immediate access to a lot of information via the on-screen menus. For example, local janitors often won’t have access to a hand terminal, but via this touchscreen interface they can easily check on matters themselves and answer questions from support staff while on-site. All in all, troubleshooting is made much easier.
Useful for Stand-alone Applications
The new interface is also useful in stand-alone applications. For example, you might want to use it in basic ventilation scenarios such as process ventilation in a factory. Here, it lets users adjust the fan speed directly on the display. They have access to simple start/stop functions, but can’t access or disrupt any deeper-level programming.
Touchscreen Made to Handle Difficult Conditions
When we designed our interface, we decided to go the extra mile and give our customers a touchscreen display,’ says Preben. Of course, we needed to make sure that it would still work in harsh conditions, so we’ve tested it thoroughly in real-life applications. We’ve operated it while it was smeared in oil, grease and even iced over; we’ve used it wearing nitrile gloves and gloves with rubberized fingertips, and we are satisfied that this screen works well even in adverse conditions.
We also added an extra precautionary measure: to ensure that the interface doesn’t inadvertently start the motor just because a spider crawls across it or water drops on it, you activate it by first pressing the screen, then sliding an on-screen bar. That way, accidents are avoided.
